Still Allies?
After what seems at the moment to be the biggest, most treacherous double-cross in Israeli history by our America “ally,” we citizens in Israel are reeling. There is no use pretending otherwise.
As Nelly Bowles wrote in her Free Press TGIF column: “President Trump traveled to France where, at Versailles, he signed an agreement giving Iran everything it ever wanted and more. He said that you gotta let them enrich a little bit of uranium: “It is a little hard, though, when you say that somebody wants it, other people have it, other adjoining states have it, and you’re not letting them have it for purposes of electricity and things. Always a little tough. You have to use a little common sense. As for ballistic missiles … I’m saying that if other countries have them, it’s a little bit unfair for them not to have some.” He’s positively enraptured with Hamas, who, in his words: “Actually they’ve behaved pretty well.”
Trump also gave an interview from his brand new Airforce 1, a 400 million dollar “gift” from terror-supporter Qatar. Never mind it took one billion of our tax payer dollars to refit it with the latest technology. I found reports that claim that Qatar has offered Trump 1.2 trillion in “investments” into the U.S. including ordering planes, commercial investments in artificial intelligence, defense technology, all of which the U.S. will be exporting to this jihadi supporter. What a great deal! (not)
We all saw how well the generous jihadis’ “gift” of 6.6 billion dollars to U.S. educational institutions has worked out over the years, turning the United States most prestigious campuses into anti-Semitic, jihadi supporting educational backwaters. Sure, why not? Take more and compromise the entire U.S. defense establishment.
While it is true that Israel, the homeland of the Jewish people, is not able to match jihadi cash, we have offered something else to the United States: intelligence, weapons technology, and the sincere loyalty and commitment of a true ally who risked the lives of its soldiers to help the United States in a war where, remember, the U.S. had no other allies – not a single NATO nation came forward with anything.
The Gulf States? Qatar? Saudi Arabia? All under attack and defensive. Israel was doing the bombing and taking the Iranian missiles to her population centers. Remember that, J.D. Schvanze?
As Iran demands that Israel lay down its arms against its terrorist proxy Hezbollah, which continues to threaten the population of Northern Israel, and only yesterday killed four precious Israeli soldiers defending our borders, and the U.S. under Donald Trump demands we fulfill Iranian demands, the time has come to ask: Is America still our ally? And if not, what does that mean for the future of our country, and our relationship with the U.S.?
First of all, there are plenty of countries that don’t accede to U.S. demands and are still on perfectly good terms with Donald Trump. Take Egypt for example. Trump asked them to open their borders and let in Gazan refugees. They flatly refused, ignoring all Trump’s threats to cut off aid, etc. etc. American hasn’t cut off aid to Egypt. In fact, Trump recently praised Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, stating they “fell deeply in love” and share “great chemistry”. At a meeting on the sidelines of the G7 summit, Trump also vowed to help Egypt resolve its water dispute with Ethiopia, declaring that Egypt has been “very unfairly treated.”
When all these “negotiations” with Iran were going on, and we in Israel kept reading about Iran’s inflated and ridiculous demands, we kept thinking: Trump the great negotiator. Surely he sees through them. Surely he has a plan…
Apparently not. The unconditional surrender Trump was declaring, it turned out to be his.
Let’s not even discuss the despicable way he excluded Israel in ceasefire negotiations, keeping her in the dark and not even taking her legitimate needs into consideration. It is said that Trump wants out of this war at any price because he doesn’t want it to define his Presidency. His present stance, however, will forever define his Presidency, as he shows the world that America is not willing to stand by its allies, is willing to give into extortion, and to use empty words to mask shameful deeds, most especially towards the Iranian people, who died in the thousands after he told them to go out into the streets because he had their backs.
And a few words about J.D. Vance, that trailer-park antisemite and good friend of Tucker Carlson, who said: “If I was in the cabinet of the Israeli government I might not be attacking the only powerful ally that I have anywhere left.”
Ally? Is that the right word to use?
We used to be allies. We were very grateful for President Trump’s help in freeing our hostages, which would probably not have happened without his pressure. We were grateful for his military supplies, which we used as HIS ALLIES IN THE WAR AGAINST IRAN.
But his government has stood in our way of finishing off Hamas, and getting rid of the “refugees” that live with the rats in their destroyed, Iranian-funded jihadi empire, despicable savages no country in the world is willing to take in. What is that group of American soldiers doing in Kiryat Gat except closely monitoring everything the IDF does against Hamas, to make sure that there is no final Israeli victory? And who is going to be asked to pay the price for Trump’s despicable Iranian deal that accepts Iran’s demands concerning Hezbollah? How many of our children are going to die to make sure this “deal” is implemented, a deal with liars and savages not worth the paper or bytes it’s written in?
If Trump thinks he can threaten Bibi, I have news for him. Last I heard, Israel was still a democracy with free elections. Bibi is a candidate but by no means a shoo-in. If any decision is taken to comply with these unreasonable American demands that endanger the IDF or the Israeli people, we will vote accordingly.
What will be the result?
Israeli senior political figure, as quoted by journalist Amit Segal:
It was Israel that did the work in Iran. It opened the skies, provided the intelligence, eliminated the commanders, set the ground on fire against the regime and wiped out the missile depots and pyrotechnic factories. Trump took credit and bragged for a whole year, and we kept quiet. The truth needs to be told and if we have to go in again we will know how to do it on our own.
