ISRAEL WAR DIARY: 7 JUNE 2026

Whose Red Lines?

I’m not going to sugarcoat anything. It was a heartbreaking week, just heartbreaking. I don’t remember the last time a leader I trusted and respected disappointed me with such a vicious turnaround. I am speaking of Israel’s only ally, President Trump. Speaking on a seemingly off the cuff meeting with reporters in the Oval Office on Thursday, Trump left open the possibility that he may resume the war with Iran. What is his red line: “Yeah, if they killed U.S. troops, I think I would (end the ceasefire) … very quickly.”

As an Israeli, sitting here with children and grandchildren who are Israeli soldiers, how am I supposed to feel about that? That our soldiers’ lives are less important than U.S. soldiers’ lives? That our “ally” is willing to sacrifice the lives of our children, but not the lives of his own nation’s to defeat the existential threat of a nuclear Iran? This, coming after the conversation with our Prime Minister in which he called him “f—ing crazy,” telling him: “The whole world hates you. If it wasn’t for me you’d be in jail.”

And if it wasn’t for Israel, then you, Mr. Trump, wouldn’t have had the intelligence and the aerial firepower to achieve whatever has been achieved in Iran so far.

The fear that is prompting Trump to pull back and give into the blow-hard threats of the paper-tiger Iranian regime is not only that of losing soldiers; but his place in history, his “legacy” as U.S. President He doesn’t want to follow in Jimmy Carter’s or Obama’s footsteps. As a result, he is not thinking rationally, and has given in to Teheran’s demand that links the war with Iran with Israel’s war against Hezbollah in Lebanon. He never should have agreed to that demand.

As a result of this furious shakedown by Trump, Israel turned back its plans to hit Hezbollah at its heart, in Beirut, emboldening our enemy.

Israel has paid the price in our soldiers’ young lives. Just this week, Adam Tzarfati, 20, was killed by a Hezbollah explosive drone. Michael Tyukin,21, was killed by a Hezbollah explosive drone. Eitan Shmuel Lemberg, 21, was killed by an anti-tank missile. Shahar Gamla, 23, died from wounds from a drone attack. Ohad Yaari, 21, was killed in accidental shooting incident. And another four soldiers were seriously wounded from drone attacks just yesterday.

On 6 June, according to Hezbollah’s official statements, there were 25 attacks against IDF forces in Southern Lebanon: 9 suicide UAVs, 5 explosive drones, 4 rocket launches, 4 artillery fire, 3 anti-aircraft fire.

In addition, Hezbollah is firing on Israeli townships. A video of an intercepted bomb over Kiryat Shmona was uploaded two days ago with the headline: “Some ceasefire!”and as I type this there are alarms going off in Ramat Naftali and Yiftach in the Galilee.

So let me get this straight, because “our ally” doesn’t want to endanger American soldiers, he is using our soldiers as his sacrificial lamb? I understand that our Prime Minister received the curses and dressing down from President Trump because he dared to refuse to agree to a complete cease fire with Hezbollah, giving in only on the demand that Beirut be left alone. But that’s not how you conduct a war, leaving your enemy room to recover. And any “ally” who stands behind you not to help but to tie your hands is no ally.

Today I understand President Trump has also backed down on the removal of nuclear material from Iran because it will require “special equipment,” and will take too long – two weeks. Not like in Venezuela where he was in and out, right? What about World War II? How long did that take? Does any serious leader go to war with a timer?

Even as I’m typing, news of a terrorist attack in the Sharon area with four injured and one dead. Both the terrorists were killed. Both of them were Israeli-Arabs, one from the Arab Israeli town of Taibeh. This is sure to set off many alarms.

Along with murderous Arab citizens, this week we had to put up with the riots from our black-clad Haredi yeshiva boys, also citizens, who are such holy, dedicated Torah scholars they demand a complete exemption from all military service even as they assert their “right” to be supported in their chosen lifestyle monetarily, as well as protected militarily. Turns out, they had no problem taking off time from what they claim is their life’s work of important Talmud studies to threaten and invade the home of Supreme Court Deputy President Noam Sohlberg, smashing his windows and destroying his garden while attempting to enter his home while he and his wife were present. Dozens were arrested. Another group tried to invade a police station where rioters were being held. They hold up signs : “We’d rather die than be drafted.”

I am so sick of these entitled idiots. They are not “holy.” They are cowards and takers. As the Torah (which they claim to be studying) says clearly: “Will you let your brothers go to war and you stay here?” How about this: A law that takes away citizenship from those refusing to fulfill their obligations to the State, followed by forced deportation? I’m sure say, Turkey, would love to show them hospitality. Or they could go to Mamdani’s New York? Or maybe Khan’s Londonistan?

In the midst of all of this, our soldiers continue to heroically do what needs to be done. Yesterday afternoon an Israeli UAV struck a tent in Western Gaza City where a leadership meeting among Islamic Jihad commanders was taking place. Four were sent to their cross-eyed virgins before they had a chance to change their underwear…

Over the weekend, the IDF struck approximately 150 Hezbollah targets, and uncovered a vast underground weapons depot in the Beaufort Castle area.

I worry not about the next hour, the next minute. I have four grandchildren from my eldest son. One is an officer currently serving. Another granddaughter just began her service. A third granddaughter has currently been drafted and has asked to be in a combat unit. Their brother just got his first draft notice from the IDF. He is finishing his junior year in high school. This doesn’t include all the grandchildren and children currently in reserves who might be called up.

This is a long haul fight. Trump, as bad as he can be, will never be as bad as the next Democrat the U.S. elects (G-d Forbid)! And as the earth begins to turn viciously against the Jewish people once more, and the free world seems to be succumbing to the scourge of Islamization, the future looks black indeed. May God help us, and all good people, stand up to the enemies of all mankind, even those too stupid and too cowardly to stand up for themselves.

I too would like to see Trump put full US pressure on the Iranian regime. But, there is a War Powers Act resolution in the Congress. The US Constitution still has a role in governing the country.

As I write, missiles from Iran were fired at northern Israel. Naomi, I join all Israelis in praying for the IDF to get rid of Hizbollah. May everyone in Israel be safe and well. Is Ben Gurion airport still open?🔯🇮🇱🔯🇮🇱🔯🇮🇱💜

@Naomi I’m sorry you feel Trump disappointed you. IMO he, like Israeli leaders like the late Eric Sharon were never idealists. Whatever they did, they did because they felt they benefited from it. Sharon built the settlements of Gush Katif as long as they served his interests. When he felt that uprooting them would be advantageous, he didn’t think twice. Whether the professional designation is “narcissist” or simply “Sociopath” I don’t expect such leaders to be guided by principle or idealism.

I’m with you 100% Naomi! I’m flabbergasted that Trump thinks so short term when Iran obviously is planning and playing a centuries long war against the West. Unless he wakes up, Western Civilization is doomed. Your kids and grandkids, my great nieces and nephews. I thought he understood the Islamic mindset. He doesn’t. Nor does he understand they will only lie, cheat and completely disregard any agreement they sign. The length of wars against pure evil shouldn’t be measured by the price of gasoline, but by what must happen to safeguard future generations.🇮🇱🔯🇮🇱🔯🇮🇱🔯🇮🇱🔯

Thank you for continuing to speak up on behalf of regular Israeli citizens. And yes, as an American, I am disappointed in Trump right now. But I admit I don’t know all the factors he has to consider. Lots of ball in the air here and in Middle East. (But any Democrat would throw Israel to the dogs.)
I am disgusted by the thugs masquerading as “good yeshiva boys/men”. Send them out of Israel. They do not deserve to be subsidized by every other citizen.

What can I say Naomi? Trump of today is not the one I remember from before – this Trump is a complete “xyz”. He pontificates and makes decisions without the crumb of an idea about how the middle east mind works……that is so dangerous to us. Is he a closet-palestinian?
As to the students of Talmud, why do your grandchildren and my great-nieces have to put their lives on the line for these useless pieces of “xyz”? If their prayers protect Jews, where were they or their forefathers or G-d in Bergen Belsen or Auschwitz?

Naomi, you did not mention the deal “Don-the Con” made with the Houties,
you can shoot missiles at Israel and Israeli shipping but as long you
don’t shoot at us we will ignore it.
Remember the vulgar way he treated Selenski when he visited the white house.
Don’t expect anything from him, he is busy shinning Putin’s boots and now
will do anything to pacify Iran. You cannot believe a word from his mouth.
The only thing going for him is the stupidity of the Democrats.
G-D save America and G-D save Israel.
