All morning, Israeli planes have been attacking dozens of terrorists sites in Lebanon: weapon depots, terrorist groups, missile launchers, military buildings.
Missiles and rockets have been fired at the Western Galilee, Nahariya, Safad, and many other places. No injuries. Miraculous.
Minister of Defense Gallant in a meeting with the heads of the communities on the border said: “The next stage in the struggle against Hezbollah will begin shortly and will create the most significant change in the security situation, allowing us to complete the most important objective in the war: to return the residents of the north to their homes.”
Our tanks are on the border with Lebanon. They say the ground operation will begin soon.
My grandson is there, with them, with his unit. The same unit that spent months blowing up terror tunnels in Gaza.
War or not, in two days, Israel and her people will celebrate the solemn and awesome Rosh Hashanah holiday, a time for self -examination, asking forgiveness, and praying to God to inscribe us, our families, and our country for a good year.
This year, we have reached these fateful days through shock treatment. Each day, since October 7, the threat of annihilation has hung over us. We have prayed for help from the Almighty, and He has helped us mightily. No matter how many drones and missiles they have sent our way, they have not been able to kill us. We, on the other hand, have risen up against our enemies and destroyed them, not out of hate, but simply necessity. “When someone rises up to kill you, kill them first.” This is Jewish law. Our enemies complain we kill their children. But they put their rockets next to their children’s cribs.
So much is hanging over our heads right now: the fate of our hostages, and of our citizen army made up of everyone’s brothers and sisters, children, grandchildren, mothers and fathers, now at the border with Lebanon ready to once again go to war.
As I make my gefilte fish, and bake my challah, and prepare all the delicacies for the New Year, my heart is with them there, with my grandson, on the border, as he, and the IDF wait once again to put their lives on the line to save our country and allow its citizens to go back to home. This knowledge sits inside me like a stone, heavy and immovable.
God, our God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, has shown us more than one
miracle this year. Rockets that landed thirty centimeters short of a house on a kibbutz. Iranian missiles that landed in the Dead Sea and hurt no one. The destruction of Gaza and its barbarians. The defeat of many of Hezbollah’s forces and leadership without losing a single soldier, or civilian.
But the story is not yet over. The battle is not yet won. We must pray, and pray, and pray for the Almighty to once again reach out His mighty hand and shield us from our enemies who are too numerous to count, who have hundreds of thousands of weapons and soldiers and who are determined to destroy us.
Already, our enemies are starting to think that we Jews are in touch with supernatural forces. They speak of “genies” that fight for us. The supernatural is at work, that is true. But why can’t they just understand that it is because the Jewish people, and those who support her, are blessed? Why can’t they see that those who hate her and try to harm her are cursed? The evidence is in front of their eyes. Why is it they are so blind?
Iran, which is being roundly mocked for its uselessness in defending its proxies, is stepping up its efforts in an almost desperate way to achieve a terror attack in Israel. Many such attacks have been foiled in preliminary stages by the Shabak and have not yet been revealed.
Iran is making strenuous efforts to recruit Israelis through the internet on Bitcoin sites and job sites. Those who they succeed in contacting are offered huge sums for everything from writing graffiti, distributing flyers, depositing cash, delivering cell phones, planting explosives, and using their car to murder people. Anyone who is suspicious of emails they’ve received, should contact the authorities.
My wish for the New Year:
May it be a year that returns to us our:
- Hostages
- Soldiers
- Displaced people
- Unity
and which increases and strengthens our:
- Faith
- Hope
- Spirit
- Happiness
May God bless our dear families, our brave troops, our steadfast leaders. And all of you, who are among the precious few who see the truth and support us. Thank you.
From one of our friends:
Amjad Taha, a political strategist and analyst from the UAE, wrote:
“You dared to strike at a wise and courageous people on October 7th, committing genocide, kidnapping their children, and violating their women. You thought they would fall, but they rose again. After 11 months, they returned to correct what had briefly slipped, their intelligence. Now, they will send you back 1,000 years, to an era without technology, where a ringing phone feels like a death sentence and a beep is a nightmare. You will be haunted by your own shadow, too afraid to use any technology, cut off from the advanced world.
“They will defeat you, not with bullets or tanks, but with the unbreakable will of brave and intelligent people. Over a simple cup of coffee, with a decisive click, they will seal your fate and that of anyone who dares to harm their children. This is a nation the world respects.”
