Gaza War Diary: 17 MARCH 2024

Probably the best update and overall take on the situation in Israel and globally regarding Islamist terrorism would be this YouTube link to an interview with Naftaly Hazoni, an F-16 fighter pilot, who has been flying in combat for the IDF for the last nine years. Naftaly is one of nine siblings, many of them at the front along with him. Please take the time to listen to what this very brave, very intelligent and special person has to teach all of us about the existential war we now face. I thank my friend, Naftaly’s mother-in-law and my neighbor, Atalia Cadranel, for bringing it to my attention.

Hamas has finally confirmed that its number three man, the brutal terrorist and one of the masterminds of October 7, was killed by an Israeli airstrike on a tunnel system in central Gaza last week. Marwan Issa, also known as Abu Baraa, was deputy commander of all Hamas military forces, and is just behind Sinwar and Mohammed Deif. Something to rejoice over!

Another reason to rejoice is the destruction of Hamas’ largest tunnel system, over two kilometers. What a joy to watch it explode!

Despite the heroic and continuing achievements of our soldiers, we are hearing more and more voices in the West demanding that Israel end the war now, without having achieved its goals, leaving genocidal maniacs on our borders. Trump has added himself to the list, calling for “peace” and delusionally asking that the Abraham Accords be extended to Iran! What is he smoking? Iran, the source of all Islamic terrorism in the world, the biggest genocidal maniacs who kill their own people, joining a peace accord? And then there is the chancellor of Germany, who “doesn’t want the Palestinians to ‘suffer.’”

Why not? Don’t you think that people who invaded, murdered, raped and kidnapped, should suffer? Who have trained an entire generation of their children for the last 18 years to hate and kill, should suffer? How else will they learn, change?

Egypt also says it has come to an agreement with the U.S. to prevent Israel from taking military action in Rafah.

I think the time for Israel to act is running out. I am sure I don’t understand the pressure our government is under, but if we want a country, we have to go it alone and make sure that the leadership in Gaza, and the Hamas ideology, is wiped off the face of the earth. Certainly, we can’t do anything about our enemies in Iran or Qatar. But we must make sure that we do not share our borders in the south and the north with genocidal maniacs. Half the residents of the south have returned home. The grocery stores are open, the classrooms. It is hoped that with each passing week, more residents will join them, leaving behind their temporary accommodations in hotels and elsewhere. But in the north, thousands still remain in exile. We cannot be pressured to end this war until they are safe to return home too.

Never again must Israel allow its communities to be targeted by terrorist bombs, and genocidal invaders.

It is a shame that the world has been duped by Hamas propaganda. They are awash in food that is literally flowing like rivers from the sea and the sky. Videos of their marketplaces show plenty of fresh produce, bags of flour, you name it.

Israel’s will is there to fight and to win. The question is, will the world tie our hands and prevent it? Israel cannot afford to let that happen. We have to withstand the political pressure, the threats, the so-called good friends like Jewish Senate Majority Leader congressman Chuck Schumer, who has, according to Newsweek “become the latest establishment Democratic politician to give in to the constant anti-Israel bullying from the far Left.” On the floor of the United States Senate Schumer had the gall to call for regime change in Israel, castigating our democratically elected Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his response to the atrocities committed on October 7.

Schumer said, “As a lifelong supporter of Israel, it has become clear to me: The Netanyahu coalition no longer fits the needs of Israel after October 7. The world has changed, radically, since then, and the Israeli people are bing stifled right now by a governing vision that is stuck in the past.”

What a moron! The Israeli people back Netanyahu’s response 100 percent, however they feel about him personally. Schumer has been touting his Jewishness and support for Israel for decades to get votes, but when push comes to shove he is no different than AOC or Rashida Tlaib. He isn’t fooling anyone. I sincerely hope American Jews will vote Schumer out of office at the nearest opportunity.

I’ll tell you who is going to suffer if Netanyahu backs down, and Israel is forced to withdraw without victory: the entire free world. I would suggest you read what happened when Chamberlin buckled and sacrificed Czechoslovakia to the Nazis. This capitulation in September, 1938 was couched in the following terms. Chamberlain: “The settlement of the Czechoslovakian problem, which has now been achieved is, in my view, only the prelude to a larger settlement in which all Europe may find peace. This morning I had another talk with the German Chancellor, Herr Hitler, and here is the paper which bears his name upon it as well as mine. We regard the agreement signed last night… as symbolic of the desire of our two peoples never to go to war with one another again.”

Is history about to repeat itself? Instead of a few thousand Gazan terrorists dying, will millions all over the world now die when Iran, Russia, and China realize there is no one to stand up against them for the West? Iran loyally supplies endless money – Biden has just given Iran $10 billion – and arms to its murderous, bestial proxies everywhere. But the West is quick to abandon Israel, who is fighting their war, by threatening to deny Israel arms, and forcing her to accede to genocidal demands.

Don’t be complacent. This pressure is going to usher in dark times that will affect everyone in the entire world.

Just a few nuclear devices to cause an underground nuclear explosion that do not emit radiation above ground placed in the Hamas tunnels will do the trick – will Netanyahu be prepared to save the Jewish State this way and demonstrate he means what he says?

I was thinking that may be too extreme and may cause a precedent for nuclear weapons to be used in future conflicts and would make Israel look bad. I was thinking a MOAB would work, the large bomb dropped in Afghanistan, or a license of that. Maybe a Grand Slam would do the trick, a 22,000 lb. bomb used by the RAF at the end of WW2, though there is the question of delivery aircraft. Nuclear devices are tricky because when the nuke is detonated above ground, like at Hiroshima, which exploded 1,900 feet above ground, the radiation gets carried into the atmosphere, so there is less lingering deadly radiation. When the explosion is near or on the ground, as in your case, it would be much worse, with radioactive dust to boot. The explosion could also contaminate ground water, depending on how far down it is.

It is a good thing Israel has nuclear weapons. I had a feeling Trump was going to do that at some point, but maybe not this early. He is going to not want to give Israel money. I was surprised by the Iran suggestion. Is he that much of an idiot? Anyway, Israel may not have any more friends by the end of the decade, thus the leaders need to make some wise decisions.
