Gaza War Diary: 17 DECEMBER 2023

One thing about Hamas, and I must say their supporters in general, is that if their lips are moving, they’re lying. What is very enlightening and reinforcing to this point of view is the consistent perusal of the Arab press, made possible by that wonderful AbuAliExpress account on Telegram, which translates from the Arabic and provides the photos that Muslim readers are getting. In addition, Abu Ali Express helpfully provides the actual truth, supported by photos and videos from the IDF.

For example, let’s talk about those poor patients in yet another Gazan “hospital” targeted by our “vicious” non-humanitarian soldiers. Here is the Arab version: “The IDF arrested the entire medical staff of the Kamal Adwan hospital in the Northern Gaza Strip and took them to an unknown location.” The truth? According to the Times of Israel, the IDF arrested 90 terrorists at this hospital, which was being used as a terror base. I saw footage of the IDF extracting guns and bullets hidden in an incubator for preemies there! I saw a room full of deadly weapons collected from that “hospital.”

I’m sure this information came from someone on the Palestinian side who worked at the hospital, or from the interrogation of a terrorist. How else could the IDF possibly have uncovered this if they didn’t know exactly where to look? Every single day that Israel is in Gaza, we receive life-saving information about the unbelievable extent of the money and effort poured into this unprecedentedly massive terrorist network.

Today, the IDF revealed the discovery of the mother of all terror tunnels, fifty meters below ground and four kilometers (!!!!) long leading straight to the Erez border crossing, a tunnel that was no doubt used for the murderous October 7 invasion to allow trucks to travel through it with their load of barbarians and deadly weapons completely unseen until they emerged into Israeli villages. It was the brainchild of that sewer rat, Yahya Sinwar’s brother, Muhamad. How many homes and businesses could that money have provided for Gazans now rotting in their dripping wet tents as Gaza is bombed back into the stone age?

I’ll tell you how much sympathy I have for these people when I see them walking through the mud to their tents. What is the number below zero? They are not being ruled against their will. They elected Hamas. They joined its ranks. They let Hamas educate their children to hate and kill. And this is the result of their efforts. Save your sympathy for people who deserve it.

And if you think I’m being harsh, then I have another great story for you. The website Srugim reports that at the beginning of the year, Israeli artist and resident of Kfar Aza Batya Holin, struck up an online friendship with a Gazan” photographer” as he presented himself, and her idea was to have a joint exhibition that would show “two sides of the border.” Ten thousand people attended. It even showed in San Diego. And then, on October 7, when she was locked in her shelter along with her daughter, she gets a phone call from her “artistic partner.” It’s probably very crowded in your village right now, he tells her gleefully. Tell me, how many soldiers are there with you? Where in the village are they located?” For Batya, the terrible truth broke like a tsunami against her innocent desire to forge human connections with the other side. The whole time, he had been a Hamas operative using her, playing her for a fool, and now he wanted to make sure to direct Hamas barbarians to her doorstep.

I’m sorry. As you may have noticed, I’m not in the mood to sing Kumbaya. Do you know that in one of the homes of the terrorists in Gaza they found medical records for a child treated in an Israeli hospital?

But Israel, as she sacrifices her young soldiers who go to the battlefield willingly, with heart stopping courage, leaving their wives and children behind, setting their educational activities and business ventures aside for the greater good, is now sunk in the mire of controversy. It is a conflict created by Israelis who still think you can “make a deal” with these people to release our hostages. Hamas in their bottomless cruelty has battered this wedge between us, toying with our despair as we hope against hope to save those who can still be saved. For this, they tell us, they want total surrender. Any Israeli government who agrees to that, will be lynched. Still, Netanyahu is bombarded by these people day and night. But he also recently received a letter from the parents of fallen soldiers demanding he continue on to total victory so that their children’s sacrifice will not have been in vain.

We cannot stop now. How many more massive underground tunnels providing easy access for Hamas trucks to waltz across our borders are there? We simply don’t know. Not yet. But we will, we must, by the end of this, for however long it takes.

There will be a time when all of us – families of the kidnapped, bereaved parents, the half million uprooted from their homes, and people like me who just want her grandson to come home, will be able to ask how our government, our vaunted Mossad, our IDF, allowed all this to happen under our noses. But for now our fury must be contained and directed at the perpetrators. The time to judge must wait.

Spot On – but the world does not listen because they have distorted views about Jews – they would rather we go quietly than defend ourselves!
You are correct “I’ll tell you how much sympathy I have for these people when I see them walking through the mud to their tents. What is the number below zero? They are not being ruled against their will. They elected Hamas. They joined its ranks. They let Hamas educate their children to hate and kill. And this is the result of their efforts. Save your sympathy for people who deserve it” – this is the message we have to get across

I have to ask, what does “total victory” entail for Israel? It for sure includes the destruction of Hamas, but after that what is the post-war plan? What will become of Gaza? I would really like to know, is there going to be an IDF occupation, or what. How will the Gazans be dealt with? What will the governance there be?

What do you suggest? What would you like to see happen? Do you think Israel should refrain from wiping out Hamas until the U.N. finishes debating what to do about the Palestinians in 2098, the same 75 years from now that they still haven’t figured out what to do since the FIRST time the Palestinians rejected peace and their own state? Let’s say there’s going to be an occupation you don’t approve of/ Does that mean that your disapproval should force Israelis to lie down and all get murdered in their beds? Do you understand that meaning of the word “prioritize” when it comes to getting rid of Hamas and then figuring out the next step?
