What I find fascinating is how Israel’s enemies report the news believing that their stories are hurtful to Israel, when in fact they sometimes sources of great joy. Take the recent article in that antisemitic, terrorist-supporting rag the British “Guardian” which throughout the Intifada blamed Israel for every, single terrorist attack, and had numerous interviews showing terrorists and their mothers and wives, poor hate-filled things, in the most positive light (yes, the Guardian found ways of faking news to that extent).
Today, I read the following in the Guardian via Abu Ali Express: quoting a UN report, The Guardian wrote that there are almost 40 million tons of rubble in Gaza that must be cleared. At the rate of 100 trucks per day, the removal of the ruins will take about 15 years. The evacuation costs are estimated at 500-600 million dollars. According to the report, 137,297 buildings were destroyed in Gaza.
Now, I’m sure the Guardian wasn’t expecting this reaction, but my goodness, isn’t that wonderful!! Just rewards for invading our south and burning our kibbutzim. Hope the number of destroyed houses continues to rise and it takes a hundred year to clear the rubble!
That’s not the only good news. Information is coming out of Lebanon that Hezbollah is wounded and bleeding. Many of its top operatives have been killed, and there is cumulative destruction to its infrastructure. According to Abu Ali, an ardent Lebanese supporter of Hezbollah – a person with access to inside sources – wrote:
“Unfortunately, the longer the situation in Gaza continues, the greater the price that is paid in southern Lebanon…The war today is different from the short war of 2006. In 2006, people returned home and began to rebuild their homes after 34 days of the burden of war. The rebuilding was only completed in 2011-2012. Today, people have been absent from home for 9 months, and the instability affects many in these villages in South Lebanon and even beyond South Lebanon. Apart from that, the longer the war drags on, the more Hezbollah will continue to bleed and its leaders will face risks [the risk of being eliminated] and more friends and family members will be killed or injured. The fighters participate in the war and then go home for a break, which is important for morale and rest, but it creates risks that they will be killed and material damage will also be caused. This is definitely a new kind of war. I’m not pessimistic, I just can’t understand what to expect for the future…”
No, as much as we in Israel are suffering at what has been done in our north, it’s good to know that Hezbollah is suffering as much or more. They too have a hundred thousand displaced people on their side and significant destruction, which happens on a daily basis. This is affecting the Lebanese – and Hezbollah supporters – much more than they have been willing let on, or Nasrallah allows them to show.
Today alone, the IDF spokesperson announced that two infrastructure targets of Hezbollah’s air defense were attacked in Baraachit and Jennata in southern Lebanon. The Lebanese report a number of wounded and official Lebanese media reports that the IDF attacked with three missiles a target in the area of Nabi Chit in the Al-Beqaa district (deep in Lebanon).
In addition, Lebanese media reported two casualties as a result of an Israeli drone strike on an X5-type vehicle with Lebanese license plates. The attack took place in Syria, in the a-Zaboura area near the border with Lebanon. The person targeted was businessman Muhammad Bara’a al-Katarji, a close associate of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, and owner of a Syrian oil company that transports oil from the Kurdish region of Syria to other parts under the control of the Assad regime as well as to Lebanon. Al-Katarji enabled ongoing funding for years of terrorist activity through his business. It’s rare that Israel targets economic terrorists, but it’s a good precedent.
Someone needs to do something about Israeli media, which is constantly aiding and abetting our enemies. For example: A court case brought by Israeli women soldiers against the IDF for refusing to deploy women in combat areas, elicited a response from the IDF which included the information that the inclusion of women tank corps has been put off until 2025 because of a shortage of tanks.
Of course, Haaretz trumpeted this news on its front page, giving great joy to al Jazeerah, who repeated it, allowing our enemies to take, I am sure, deep delight in the information that Israel doesn’t have enough tanks…
What is wrong with these Israeli self-haters? Have they no sense of patriotism or responsibility towards their own soldiers in the middle of a genocidal war??! I would love to see them tried under treason laws and jailed for a few days with the Nukba terrorists. Perhaps it might change their perspective…
And now for a little fun. Israeli comedian Orel Tsabari on a TV comedy show pranked a five-star Qatari hotel, trying to reserve a room for Yahya Sinwar. Among the things, the Arabic-speaking comedian told the reservation desk was that no one was allowed to know Sinwar was there enjoying himself while Palestinians endured Israeli bombardments. He was assured it would be kept strictly confidential. Also, no one was allowed to make fun of him for his donkey ears, because he was sensitive to such things. Assurances were duly forthcoming. Only when the caller announced he was from the Mossad (“you’ve heard of the Mossad, no?”) who would be coming along to kill Haniyeh and the rest of the Hamas scum, did the girl finally disconnect.
