GAZA WAR DIARY: 10 APRIL 2024

In the World Happiness Index, published recently, America was not even in the top twenty. Israel, however, placed fifth. Even now. Even after a Hamas invasion and unspeakable suffering, mass dislocation and political polarization. Why? How? A beautiful article written by Gil Troy and published in the Wall Street Journal on April 7 explains it this way:

“Israelis pursue happiness through family and community, by feeling rooted and having a sense of purpose… Israelis didn’t seek this war—but when attacked, they unleashed a patriotism, idealism, self-sacrifice and grit that today’s regressive progressives scorn. Israelis’ resilience, duty and love of life explain how this often polarized and besieged society remains such a happy place. Rather than demonize these heroes, [U.S.] protesters could learn from Israelis about the art of living—not only for their sake but for America’s too.”

Another reason is that in loving life and trying to preserve life, Israel cherishes each and every citizen, who in turn feels cherished and part of a larger family for whom they are willing to risk their very lives.

Despised Hamas leader Ismail Haniyah today lost three sons-Hazan, Amir and Mohammed—all active Hamas members, and three grandsons—Amal, Khaled and Razan—in a car bomb attack in the Shatti refugee camp in the west of Gaza City. The IDF apparently didn’t discuss it beforehand with Netanyahu, so good for them.

I will never forget the October 7 photos of Haniya in his five-star Qatar hotel room bowing in grateful prayer to the television set as the videos of the massacre were played. And now our just G-d has paid him back. For in bringing death to our families he has destroyed his own. Happy Eid al-Fitr!

Those of you with a kind heart, not to worry! Haniyah broadcast a video of himself being told the news and looked positively happy. He said: “I thank Allah for this honor… My sons died a martyr’s death on the way to the liberation of Jerusalem and al Aqsa.” Dear Mr. Haniya, please come to Gaza and bring the rest of your family with you. The IDF will be happy to see you all receive the same joyous honor.

The discovery of the murdered remains of Pascal Suleiman, senior member of the Lebanese Forces Party (Christian) has infuriated Lebanese citizens who chanted: “Hezbollah is a terrorist organization” during his funeral. Hezbollah has asserted Suleiman was murdered by Syrian refugees during a robbery, but since his body was found in the area of the village of Abu Khoury in Syria inside Al-Kusir, Hezbollah’s mightiest stronghold, a thousand witnesses attest to Hezbollah’s responsibility. If there is going to be a war against Hezbollah, now would be a good time.

Once again, Hamas has repeated its mantra that it will only release the hostages after complete and permanent Israeli withdrawal (surrender). They claim they are prepared for an Israeli action in Rafah and are expected to “increase their activity in the coming days.” After prayers in Teheran, Iran’s Supreme Leader told a large crowd that “The attack on our consulate in Syria is an attack on our land. The Zionist entity made a mistake and will surely be punished for it.” Reports are circulating that in the coming days, Iran is planning a massive rocket fire and drone attack on Israel. Foregin Minister Israel Katz has responded: “If Iran attacks from its territory, Israel will respons and attack Iran.” Soon after, Al -Akhbar newsmedia, which is a Hezbollah mouthpiece, quoted an Iranian diplomatic source: “If a ceasfire is reached in Gaza and Israel doesn’t initiate a military operation in Rafah, Iran is ready, as part of reducing tensions in the region, not to carry out any offensive action against Israel at this time.”

Guess they are more worried about the reprisals than they are letting on.

Who killed Muhammad Sarour, the money changer responsible for transferring funds from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards to the military wing of Hamas? Sarour, who has been under U.S. sanctions since 2019, was found in the living room of a villa in Lebanon in the village of Beit Mary with six bullets in the chest and two Glock pistols in the kitchen along with a special cleaning agent to wipe away fingerprints. Also found was a large sum of money. I guess robbery wasn’t the motive. Please, tell us who you are so we can give you a medal!

And I will end with still another joyful bit of news: Police officers dressed as ultra-Orthodox Jews arrested haredi fanatics waving Palestinian flags in Jerusalem’s ultra-Orthodox Meah Shearim neighborhood today. I hope they lock them up and throw away the keys. These virulent anti-Zionists have been a bone in our throats since the rebirth of Israel, which they refuse to forgive, demanding that no Jew should create a Jewish State until the Messiah arrives and hands it to them on a silver platter as they sit on their backsides and live off charity. They have marched in numerous Hamas rallies abroad. Wish I could get my hands on every, single one of them. But at least we got these. Hurray for the land of Israel where such people are within the reach of our police and our justice system.

News from the U.S. barely mentioned the deaths of Haniyeh’s sons. Nothing more. Nothing about Lebanon, where info I have accessed, say the Christian elements try to hang on by a thread as Hezbollah rules. Not sure if you saw all the radicalized Arab-Americans chanting “DEATH TO AMERICA’ yesterday. Expected in Tehran, but was very inciting with much media fanfare. Many of us will continue to root for Israel. ( You were certainly correct about the Haredi fanatics. There are so many of them that refuse to do anything but read, procreate and cause trouble. Saw them blocking traffic as IDF patiently (at first) removed them repeatedly from street.) As if the IDF hasn’t got it’s hands full. Wait until Bidens’s million dollar port arrives and expects the IDF to distribute aid. Delusional at best, vote buying at worst.

That was the wrong video. YT had autoplayed on to the next one by the time I went back to collected the link. Here’s the video, in memory of the male branch of Haniyeh’s family tree being cut short –

if Iran attacks Israel, I hope Israel will flatten Teheran and their nuclear bomb
    site.
lay waste and contaminated their entire region.
    good for the IDF.
Hope they run the military without, government interference
