Sometimes – often – I’ve been waking up Sunday mornings with a deep pit of dread in my stomach knowing I have to write this weekly summary. The reason for this is that I like to be hopeful, rather than a bearer of doom, but honestly friends, things are so bad.
Take the fake “Starvation in Gaza” campaign by the terrorists of Hamas, who are determined to survive and all they need is the influx of UN donations via food trucks to do so. If they can’t steal the aid and sell it to the “starving” Gazans, what’s a terrorist organization to do? Lay down their arms? Give up the hostages? Go live in Qatar? Unthinkable. So why not use fake AI created images of a non-existent famine – you know skinny kids, crying moms, etc. – to get Israel to allow in the UN truckloads to fill their coffers? The Western media, that hates Israel, will lap it up. Lammy, that British Nazi, will viciously condemn Israel for human rights abuses against the barbaric Hamas. It would be funny if it wasn’t so deadly serious.
Now, I don’t blame Hamas. They are evil incarnate trying to survive. But that otherwise intelligent people all over the world are lapping this up? I have a dear friend, a rabbi I really respect, who wrote an embarrassing column about how Israel’s awful PR and the starvation campaign are hurting Jews in the Diaspora. I had a faithful reader who wanted to know if it was true that the IDF was shooting dozens of Gazan civilians waiting on line to receive aid from the GHF (the American aid distributor which actually gives free aid to the Gazans). Isn’t it clear that Hamas is shooting those on line to get the free aid?? Isn’t it clear that the IDF shoots when Hamas infiltrates and endangers aid seekers and IDF soldiers? Do I really have to spell that out?!
Well, primitive and ridiculous and transparent as the Hamas campaign may be, it has also been wildly successful, actually forcing Israel to suspend military activities and allow UN trucks to haul its treasures to Hamas warehouses, prolonging the war. Israel is also dropping aid from the skies! OMG! Sickening.
Abu Ali: “The Palestinian commentator and Hamas supporter, Saeed Ziad, summarizes the achievements of the ‘Hunger in Gaza’ campaign, which began about a week and a half ago, publishing documentation of newspaper headlines in Western media outlets and writes: ‘This pressure is what caused the enemy to make concessions. This pressure is what brought about the entry of the trucks. This pressure must continue.’ He then added the hashtag: #Gaza_is_dying_of_hunger”
In case you were wondering: IDF Spokesperson: “There is no starvation in Gaza; this is a false campaign by the terrorist organization Hamas.”
Tonight, the IDF will resume airdropping food over the Strip. The airdrop operation will be carried out in cooperation with international organizations and the IDF, led by COGAT and the Air Force. The airdrop will include seven pallets of aid containing flour, sugar, and canned food, which will be provided by international organizations.
This week alone, more than 250 aid trucks were unloaded, joining the hundreds of trucks waiting at the crossings to be collected by the UN and international organizations.
In addition, about 600 trucks were collected by the UN and international organizations and distributed throughout the Gaza Strip.
Furthermore, in accordance with the decision of the political echelon, the IDF, through COGAT and in cooperation with the Israel Electric Corporation, connected the “Kela” power line to operate the southern desalination plant, which is expected to supply about 20,000 cubic meters of water per day, instead of the 2,000 supplied so far, in order to provide for approximately 900,000 residents in the area.
I’d like to point out that in Iran, there is no water. Water outages and electricity outages in Teheran can run for as long a 40 hours. But G-d forbid the terrorists of Hamas, and the people who put them in power and support them should be thirsty. It makes me want to punch my fist through a wall!
Israel Today: “Hamas rejected the ‘Witkoff plan’ to end the war, and instead launched the ‘Gaza is starving’ campaign. The world ate it up (pun intended), and now Hamas is receiving supplies in return for nothing. Don’t expect a deal anytime soon. Not so long as Hamas can get what it wants for free.”
Yehoshua Mosbacher, 26, was wounded in southern Gaza on July 19 and succumbed to his injuries yesterday.
Amir Saad, 22, a Druze officer in the elite Golani Reconnaissance Unit, fell in battle in southern Gaza.
Yinon Nuriel Vana, 20, also from the Golani Reconnaissance Unit, fell in battle in southern Gaza.
May their memories be a blessing.
On Thursday, eight soldiers were hurt in a car-ramming terror attack at the Beit Lid Junction in central Israel, near Kfar Yona. The driver fled the scene. On Saturday, police arrested Arkan Khaled, a 27-year-old Israeli resident of Taybeh, who was caught while hiding at a construction site in the town of Kfar Yona.
Israel Today: “Over 1,000 Druze residents on the Golan Heights have applied for Israeli citizenship in the first half of 2025, double the total who applied in all of 2024. Golan Druze for decades rejected Israeli citizenship for fear their region would one day be returned to Syria as part of a peace deal and they’d be branded traitors. They now realize Israel is their only hope.”
And now to end on the only hopeful note I can think of. The Israeli Knesset voted 71-13 to extend Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.
“Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley are an inseparable part of the Land of Israel – the historic, cultural and spiritual homeland of the Jewish people,” the preamble to the resolution states. “Centuries and millennia before the establishment of the modern state, the forefathers and prophets of the nation lived and acted in these regions,” it continues. “Here, the foundations of Jewish faith and culture were laid. Cities like Hebron, Shechem (Nablus), Shiloh and Beit El are not merely historical sites – are living expressions of the continuous Jewish presence in the land.”
The motion was passed as a Hatza’a l’Seder Yom, or “Suggestion for discussion on the agenda,” a parliamentary tool equivalent to a resolution that does not obligate the government to act on its content.
This makes perfect sense. This territory was part of the Mandate meant to form the Jewish State (along with all of the land illegally and viciously handed over to the Arabs to form Transjordan.) The hostile Arab villages there are filled with terrorist activities and weapons manufacturing plants, and are close to the heart of the country. They must be eliminated. The Arab inhabitants of this area were solidly behind the Hamas October 7 massacre. There can be no peaceful coexistence with them.
Now, after the Knesset vote, it remains to be seen if the Netanyahu government will have the guts to implement the will of the people and go against the worldwide condemnation that is sure to ensue. I say, go for it! We have nothing to lose but our chains to discredited and murderous Leftist concepts of the past that have endangered us and seen us murdered in cold blood. The fake Oslo Accords need to be uprooted root and branch.
If we are going to be at war, and are going to be bombed, and are going to be hated anyway when we do nothing to deserve it, we might as well get something positive out of it.
