Chief of Staff in Philadephi Corridor (on the border with Egypt)
“Very high achievements in dismantling Hamas. Hamas should know that every day that it holds the hostages, will be more bitter for it than the previous day.We are preparing options for whatever the political echelon decides. If it decides we’re staying in Philadelphi, we’ll know how to stay there and stay strong. If it will decide that we monitor and raid whenever we have an indication, we will know how to do it. We will know how to work well.”
And yet. Despite this very tough stand by General Halevi, which is commendable, I cannot understand what we hope to achieve by continuing with this farce of a “summit” in Doha. Hamas is not attending. So who, exactly, are we negotiating with? Ourselves? Biden? The Qataris?
It is hard not to reach the conclusion that we are being mercilessly pressured. Internally by those who wish to see us fail in this war just because they hate Netanyahu that much and hope he will be replaced if Israel allows itself to be defeated. Yes, I know. This is truly sick. Externally, we are pressured by our enemies, who have been crushed (anyone with eyes can see that) who want to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. And we are being squeezed by our so-called Western allies, like the US and Canada, and Great Britain, who all want a ceasefire now, i.e., they want the war to end without Hamas’s destruction. Why? Because they are delusional and beholden to the Muslims they’ve imported, and to the woke philosophy that has rotted away their love of goodness and their patriotism.
What can we hope to gain from these negotiations? Out of 130 hostages, they will give us 33. Every single one is a whole world, I agree. My heart aches for them. And for this, they want us to withdraw from Gaza, stop the fighting, allow the terrorists to come out of hiding and resume firing rockets at Tel Aviv (which they’ve never stopped doing). Worst of all, they want us to release terrorists murderers from our jails, so they can rape and kill and kidnap again, including the arch mass murderer Marwan Barghouti, who should never have been in jail in the first place! He should have been shot on the spot. I remember how he blew up buses, bar mitzvas, killed hundreds, and when they caught him, he was a cowering, terrified coward. Why wasn’t he executed long ago? For every released hostage, how many more Israelis are going to have to die down the road? Have we learned nothing from the Shalit deal?
This is my complaint. Israel should not be housing in its jails murderers who deserve the death penalty. It just encourages kidnappings and extortion. The Nukhba forces deserve to die, otherwise they too, one day, will be released. They too, like Barghouti, will be transformed by lying, delusional Marxist woke journalists into Nelson Mandelas. Today I saw a full page ad in Architectural Digest which read: “A WORLD WITHOUT JOURNALISM IS A WORLD WITHOUT TRUTH.” Ha! It was paid for by The Committee to Protect Journalism. But who is going to protect us – and especially the truth – from journalists?
Herzi Halevi said today that he will do whatever the government wants. This is what frightens me. If our government gives into the pressures and decides to undo all the work of our army to rid us of Hamas; if they decide to leave the border with Egypt open to a massive influx of new weapons to rearm Hamas; if they want to allow terrorists to go back to the areas our boys died to get rid of them, the IDF will bow its head and do it.
It makes me sick.
I don’t think we belong at any summit. We need to keep on fighting. I say this even if it means that I personally will face a war and destruction. Better to face it now, than forever.
As for Iran, let’s see what they plan to do with their “red flag of revenge.” They were made to look like morons when Haniyeh was blown up in his honored guest accommodations in Teheran. What would Iran have to do to erase that image from the world and gain back its bluster and threat? And what are they actually capable of doing? Perhaps they have decided instead of losing in this onslaught, and thus deepening the perception that they are a stone-age bunch of primitives with big mouths, like the Houthis, it’s better to simply save face by doing nothing and saying “if Israel concludes a ceasefire, we will temporarily hold back.” They’ll claim they did it for the Gazans. Right.
As I’ve always said about our enemies: they will kill us when they can, and stop only when they can’t.
Let’s hope the IDF finds our hostages and releases them and the “negotiators” leave Doha as quickly as they can, allowing the future terrorist murderers of our children to stay locked behind bars where they belong. Let us hope that our government doesn’t collapse and destroy all we have fought so hard and sacrificed so much to achieve.
And let us pray to God to keep us safe from the worst people on the planet and their woke allies.
